WordPress and their very unrelated posts

May 15, 2008

A couple of days ago I noticed that every post I read on a wordpress blog (including my latest post) has some “Possibly related posts” at the bottom. They are totally unrelated and stupid, plus, they are from other people’s blogs. If they annoy you as much as they annoy me, then you can disable them by going to Dashboard -> Design -> Extras then check “Hide related links on this blog…”

  1. I created my own wordpress blog but never used it!
I am not familiar with its functions… almost a year since I created it, should I leave Blogger and move to wordpress? Whadya think?

  2. What I hate about blogger is that you have to go to another page to comment.

  3. its the same with wordpress… isnt it?

  4. no, kaa nafs il post u comment ta7taaa.. bs hathak u go to this orange page ily i dont like

  5. LOL ok! hehehe being dallo3a? ๐Ÿ˜›

  6. loool

  7. lol guess they want to publicize their service to your blog visitors. related posts should be similiar posts in your “own” blog not others but hey guess they share a big database so why not

  8. The idea behind the related posts was to make users jump straight to the topics that they’re interested in. The first couple of links take you back to your own posts and the others link to other wordpress blogs. It’s good to have the option to turn them off.

  9. Ya I guess they do bother a lot of people, hehehehe
    thanks for the info =)

  10. Didn’t know you’re a techie. ;p

I’d rather stay with blogger. I’m more familiar with its HTML flexibility.

  11. Blogger rulz ! ๐Ÿ˜›

  12. lol Mac i don’t suppose you know what i majored in?

3baid & TAT bas they just assumed ina I want that stupid service

    G madri they bothered me!
